The WCP-D5 DC pump operates according to the spherical motor principle invented by Laing. The only moving part is a spherically shaped, permanent magnet rotor/impeller unit, which is supported on a wear-resistant, ultra-hard ceramic bearing ball.
A conventional shaft bearing with bushings is not used. Due to the design, the development of bearing play and thus an increase in operating noise is impossible. The pump remains quiet throughout its entire operating time.
The self-adjusting bearing is lubricated and cooled directly by the pumped medium (wet rotor pump). Separate maintenance is not required. All parts in contact with the fluid are corrosion-resistant.
Thanks to the spherical motor design, the pump cannot normally become blocked. Even after extended periods of inactivity, the pump starts reliably. The permanent magnet motor technology ensures a very high pump efficiency.
The pump's speed can be continuously adjusted over a wide range via a speed controller integrated into the stator. This can be used to set a desired hydraulic output, but also to limit electrical power consumption. Regardless of the set speed, the pump always starts with the same torque, ensuring reliable starting even at the lowest power setting.
The pump is supplied without any attachments. A suitable pump cover is required for operation. This is available separately.
The electrical connection is made via a 4-pin Molex connector. For speed monitoring, the pump provides a tachometer signal via a 3-pin Molex connector.
Speed control is achieved through PWM. This pump is technically identical to the product D5-PWM (30047). However, instead of a sticker, this pump features a decorative polished stainless steel cover.
